Abstract:
PURPOSE:To allow the rapid accessing to an alternate sector by providing a alternate sector indication part in each sector and recording the track number and sector number of the alternate sector when alternate processing is executed. CONSTITUTION:The alternate sector indication part 21 is provided in each sector 30 so that the track number 10 and sector number 11 of the alternate sector in the execution of the alternate processing can be recorded therein. The reading out of the track number and sector number of the alternate sector from the alternate sector indication part of a source sector is, therefore, possible if there is the source sector subjected to the alternate processing at the time of reading out the optical disk medium. The rapid accessing to the alternate sector is possible in this way.
