Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record information again on a rewritable optical disk with a fixed length packet writing system to be prerecorded which changing packet lengths of them by storing user data block information of respective packets being in tracks in a buffer while reading them.
SOLUTION: The recording processing of information by the fixed length packet writing system with respect to respective tracks being on an optical disk 1, a rewriting processing changing packet lengths of information being on the disk 1 and an error processing at the time of the rewriting processing or the like are performed with the control of a controller 9. Moreover, the controller 9 reproduces the user data block information of packets of respective tracks being on the disk 1 with information reproducing part 13 and stores them in a buffer 11. The contents of them are not changed in the buffer 11 and after only packet lengths are changed, the information are overwritingly recorded on concerned tracks. In short, at the time of rerecording of the information, the information are recorded by changing positions of blocks for link.
