Title:
OPTICAL DISK-REPRODUCING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3491546
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict wasteful power consumption by searching for an operation start control and previous final read position when a quantity of remaining data in a memory means after a predetermined rest control becomes not larger than a predetermined quantity, and resuming demodulating recording data and writing after completing the search.
SOLUTION: When a DRAM 14 becomes full and a read system is to be rested, a thread control circuit 11 compares a size of the present thread error signal SE with a second threshold value beforehand. When the thread signal is larger than the second threshold value, an optical pickup 3 is moved by a predetermined second fixed amount in a direction wherein the thread error is negated, so that the thread error is reduced. Thereafter, when a quantity of remaining data in the DRAM 14 becomes not larger than a predetermined value and a fixed or larger vacancy is generated, the read system is driven again to resume reading. A pause position as a read position immediately before the rest can be searched for with a little track jump amount and a short search time.
