PURPOSE: To enable heat resistance, forming characteristic, transfer characteristic, dimensional stability, and adhesion property of a reflection film and a recording film to be improved and a compound refraction to be reduced by using an optical disk substrate consisting of a thermoplastic resin whose basic frame is tricychlodecane.
CONSTITUTION: An optical disk substrate which consists of a thermoplastic resin whose basic frame is tricychlodecane is used. A hydrogen polymer which is obtained by performing hydrogen-addition of a polymer which is obtained by performing metathesis polymerization of at least one type of tetracyclododecene derivative or tetracyclododecene and a non-saturated annular compound which can be copolymerized is used as this thermoplastic resin, thus obtaining an optical disk with improved heat resistance, forming characteristic, transfer characteristic, dimensional stability, and adhesion property of recording film, a small compound refraction, and an improved optical characteristic.
