Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make the angle of divergence of laser light small and to manufacture the optical fiber array easily, speedily, and securely by adhering and fixing a lens to a projection opening end part of each optical fiber constituting the optical fiber array. CONSTITUTION:Plural optical fibers which have cavities in their center parts are arranged laterally in plane and adhered together, and ball lenses 22 which are a little larger than the cavity parts 30 are adhered and fixed to one-end- surface sides of the respective optical fibers. Namely, the optical fibers which have the cavity parts 30 at their center parts are arranged laterally in plane and adhered mutually and the air in the cavity parts 30 of the optical fibers are sucked from one-end sides to suck the ball lenses 22 having a diameter a little larger than the diameter of the cavity parts 30 to the other-end sides, thus adhering and fixing the ball lenses to the end surfaces of the cavity parts 30 of the respective optical fibers. Consequently, the divergence of the projection laser light can be made small and the optical fiber array can easily and securely be manufactured.
