PURPOSE: To shorten the operation time at a piping laying site for an optical fiber cable when the optical fiber cable is laid in piping by utilizing the connector connecting optical fiber cables.

CONSTITUTION: For the optical fiber cable connecting method, the small-sized optical connector 3A which is small enough to run in the piping 2 is provided at one end of the optical fiber cable 1A, the optical fiber cable 1A is laid and inserted into the laid piping 2 having the small-sized optical connector 3A atop, and the small-sized optical connector 3A and a small-sized optical connector 3B provided at one end of the other optical fiber cable 1B are connected so that the optical loss at the connection place becomes small.
