PURPOSE: To reduce the number of parts and to obtain high quality though production and excess length processing are easy as for an optical fiber cable housing tool for performing the excess length processing in an optical transmission device.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of side plates 3 and 4 having a larger diameter than a drum part 2 on which an optical fiber cable is wound is attached to both ends of the drum part 2 nearly vertically to the center line of the drum part 2. Therefore, the excess length part of the optical fiber cable is easily made circular by winding the optical fiber cable round the drum part 2. Since a pair of side plates 3 and 4 having the larger diameter than the drum part 2 is attached to both ends of the drum part 2, the optical fiber cable is wound without being dispersed.
