Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable junction box and a method for detecting a fault in a transmission line using it capable of locally restraining the range influenced by stress and moreover capable of rapidly finding the generating position of the stress when the stress becoming the fault in the transmission line of the optical fiber cable is generated. SOLUTION: In the optical fiber junction box, a configuration which has a mechanism releasing the fixing of the optical fiber cable and also which incorporates a mechanism deforming and cutting a coated optical fiber to produce a transmission abnormal state at the same time of being released when the stress of a preliminarily specified limit value or more is exerted on the optical fiber cable connected to the optical fiber cable junction box is composed.
