PURPOSE: To effectively prevent the reduction of the transmission efficiency of a cable caused by repeatedly performing the winding/unwinding operations of the cable, as for a slot type, or a groove type optical fiver cable which is constituted by laminating and storing many optical fiber ribbons in a slot, or a groove.
CONSTITUTION: Between the lowermost optical fiber ribbon Ta among the optical fiber ribbons T laminated and arranged in the groove 3 or the like and the base (f) of the groove or the like, a dummy ribbon Td whose friction coefficient is smaller than that of the optical fiber ribbon is interposed so that the coefficient μds of the friction between the dummy ribbon Td and the base (f) of the groove or the like may be made smaller than the coefficient μtt of the friction between each layer of the optical fiber ribbons.
