To provide an optical fiber coating removal device which can remove long secondary coating without giving an excess burden to primary coating, a fiber core to easily adjust removing coating length.
The optical fiber coating removing device includes: a coating removing part 37 which is movable along a guide rail 35 installed on a base 31; a motor 39 for moving; and a pressing fixing means 45 for pressing an optical fiber guided from a module 41 installed on the base to the coating removing part 37, wherein the coating removing part consists of: a plurality of removing bases 71 which are followably connected; and removing covers 73 which openably/closably attach to the removing bases, to each removing base, an optical fiber insertion groove 91, and two cutter blade operation holes on both sides of the optical fiber insertion groove are formed on the surface, a pair of cutter blades and a spring member which energizes both the cutter blades in a direction for always separating them from each other are attached inside, and an actuating pin 113 which can be inserted into the cutter blade operation holes attaches to the removing cover to be movable in the vertical direction via a support member.
