To provide an optical fiber connector which is simple in optical fiber connection on a trunk side, enables later branching and connecting and is easy to handle.
This connector includes a main body 1, which is installed with plural pieces of glass capillaries 4 in parallel at its center and is provided with guide parts 1a, 1b for guiding the optical fibers and holding and fixing the optical fibers by adhesives 8 at their both ends, and cover glass 2. The connector has an end 11 connectable to another optical element from a trunk side and is inserted and fixed with the respective optical fibers 5a branched and expanded from plural-core optical fibers 5 at the parallel pitches of respective glass capillaries 4 into the respective glass capillaries 4. The connector is so constituted that the optical fibers 6 of the necessary number of pieces are connected and fixed to the optical fibers 5 from the branch line side when connected.
