Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a conventional problem of inferior workability in inserting a ferrule into a split sleeve and large connection loss.
SOLUTION: This is a cylindrical ceramics-made ferrule having a through hole 4 for storing an optical fiber in the axial direction. The ferrule has a truncated cone-shaped chamfered part 2 on the outer circumference at the tip end 3, and the tool marks 2A on the chamfered part 2 are formed nearly parallel to the generatrix B of the chamfered part 2.
