Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain necessary fundamental wave components with high accuracy by providing a direct current rejector which removes direct current components from the output of a photodetector and a harmonic rejector which removes harmonic components of the frequency of a phase modulator. CONSTITUTION:A direct current rejector 17 for removing direct current components and a second-harmonic rejector 18 for removing second harmonic components are provided between a current-voltage converter 7 and a synchronous detector 10. The output from a multiplier 25 in the rejector 18 is controlled to be of the same phase as the second harmonic components from the converter 7. Moreover, the output of the multiplier 25 is controlled to be the same level as the amplitude of the second harmonic components from the converter 7 so that the second harmonic components are removed from the output of a subtractor 21. Accordingly, since the direct current components are removed by the rejector 17 from the output signal of the converter 7, and at the same time, the second harmonic components of the frequency of the phase modulator 8 are removed by the rejector 18, a gain can be large even if the input angular velocity is small.
