PURPOSE: To obtain an optical fiber laser device which is fast, cheap, small in size, and easy to assemble by a method wherein an oscillator, connected with a rare earth element doped fiber and an exciting ray input optical fiber through fiber couplers, is connected to amplifiers, arranged in two or more stages, which are connected with rare earth element doped fibers and exciting ray input optical fibers through optical couplers.
CONSTITUTION: An oscillator 4, connected to a rare earth element doped fiber 1 and an exciting ray input optical fiber 2 through a coupler, is connected to amplifiers 9, which are connected to rare earth element doped fibers 8 and exciting ray input optical fibers 7 through fiber couplers 6, arranged in two or more stages. For instance, starting ends of the optical fibers 2 and 7 are connected to an exciting ray source such as a laser diode or the like, and the terminal end of the rare earth element doped fiber 8 of the lase stage amplifier 9 is connected with the starting ends of an oscillated laser ray output optical fiber 12 and an exciting ray lead-out optical fiber 13 through a fiber coupler 11. And, the rare earth element doped fibers 8 of the amplifiers 9 of amplifying stages are all the same in core diameter, the refractive index difference between a core and a clad, a doped amount of a rare earth element, and length.
