Abstract:
To provide an optical fiber liquid sensor of superior sensitivity at low cost.
Cobalt absorbing an incident light is doped in a core 11a of a single mode optical fiber 1 on a sensor side. A resin layer 12 having a refractive index larger than that of a clad 11b is provided on the optical fiber 11. An incident light is propagated in the resin layer 12 and the propagation light is emitted from the resin layer 12 into the liquid according to the contaminated level of the liquid 18.
