Abstract:
To provide a guide roller and a production method of an optical fiber, capable of reducing a disconnection frequency of an optical fiber during a production process of the optical fiber.SOLUTION: There are provided guide rollers 19a-19i used for a production process of an optical fiber, for guiding a running optical fiber. The guide roller is constituted by having on a center part, a bearing 30 including an inner ring 31, an outer ring 32, and a rolling element 34 rolling by being arranged in a bearing space 33 between the inner ring and the outer ring. A base oil kinematic viscosity of grease encapsulated in the bearing space is 26 mm2/s or less at 40°C.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
