Abstract:
To provide a technique for accurately measuring the refractive-index distribution of an optical fiber in a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A measuring device comprises: imaging means that has an imaging element and takes intensity images of a side face of an optical fiber from a plurality of imaging directions; and processing means that processes the intensity images taken by the imaging means. The imaging means takes two intensity images, in each of the plurality of imaging directions, having phases of light transmitted through the optical fiber at an imaging position that are different from each other. The processing means comprises: generation means that generates a phase image in each imaging direction on the basis of the two intensity images taken from each of the plurality of imaging directions; and inverse conversion means that executes Abel inverse conversion on the phase image in each imaging direction so as to obtain the refractive-index distribution of the optical fiber in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber in the phase image in each imaging direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
