Abstract:
To provide an optical fiber ribbon and an optical fiber cable which contribute to increase the communication capacity in a wavelength multiplex communication, by suppressing deterioration of polarization mode dispersion.
The optical fiber ribbon is provided with: a plurality of bundled coated optical fibers 12 each of which has an optical fiber 14 and coating layers 15 and 16 provided on the outer periphery of the clad of the optical fiber 14; and a jacket 13 formed around the plurality of the coated optical fibers so as to integrate the plurality of coated optical fibers, wherein the glass transition temperature of the jacket is in the range of 80 to 130 °C.
