Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the coupling structure of an optical fiber ribbon, in which adjacent optical fiber ribbons are intermittently coupled together in the longitudinal direction, to be reliably inspected.SOLUTION: An optical fiber ribbon inspection device according to the invention inspects the state of a notch in an intermittently notched optical fiber ribbon 1 in which a plurality of optical fiber ribbons are arranged in parallel in one row and integrated by common sheathing and intermittent notches are formed in the longitudinal direction between the adjacent optical fiber ribbons. The inspection device comprises: a roller 20 with protrusion having a protruding part for pressing into the notches in the intermittently notched optical fiber ribbons to expand the notches; a sensor (an optical sensor 30) for detecting the state of the surface of the roller 20 with protrusion; and a determination unit 31 for determining, on the basis of the result of detection by the sensor, that the intermittent notches are formed properly.
