Abstract:

PURPOSE:To achieve a lengthening of an optical fiber containing a fluorescent fiber while expanding a detection range of the position of emission concerning an optical fiber sensor containing a plurality of fluorescent fiber parts. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of fluorescent fiber parts 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24 containing fluorescent pigments are connected in series with transparent optical fiber parts 26. The fluorescent pigments of the plurality of fluorescent fiber parts contain components generating fluorescence varied in wavelength. The fluorescent pigment of the fluorescent fiber part positioned in the middle have the largest wavelength of the fluorescence while the wavelength of the fluorescence of the fluorescent pigments is made to reduce gradually as fluorescent fiber parts are farther away from the middle toward the outer sides.
