Abstract:

PURPOSE: To automatically perform the jumper operation of an MDF at low cost by automatically and directly connecting an optical fiber on the side of a subscriber's line for connection and the optical fiber on the side inside a station and a branching optical fiber and a testing optical fiber respectively.
CONSTITUTION: The connector plug part 10 of the specified optical fiber Fu on the side of the subscriber's line is pulled out from an optical fiber alignment board 2 by a robot 4 for optical fiber selecting/laying operations. Then, it is inserted inside the connector adaptor part of a connector arrangement board 3 and connected to the optical fiber Fk on the side inside the station. The optical fiber Fu on the side of the subscriber's line which became useless is pulled back by a winding roller device 5 and the robot 6 for an optical fiber removing operation and its connector plug 10 is held onto the optical fiber alignment board 2. As a result, the optical fiber Fu on the side of the subscriber' s line and the optical fiber Fk on the side inside the station can be automatically connected, also low-loss connection can be performed through a connector in one place and the optical fibers can be packaged with high density.
