Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably provide an optical film and an antireflection film having excellent antiglare property and giving well-defined black of a screen when applied to a display, and to provide a polarizing plate subjected to an antireflection treatment by appropriate means, and an image display device.SOLUTION: The optical film includes a light-diffusing layer, which is formed by applying and then curing a coating composition for a light-diffusing layer, which comprises an ionization radiation-curable monomer, at least two types of light-transmitting resin particles having different average particle diameters and at least two types of organic solvents, on a transparent support. The light-transmitting resin particles include a type of particles having the maximum average particle diameter and a second type of particles having an average particle diameter that is 30 to 90% of the maximum average particle diameter. The maximum average particle diameter is in a range from 20% to 90% of the thickness of the cured light-diffusing layer. The polarizing plate and the image display device use the above optical film.
