Abstract:

To provide a light and thin optical film filter which does not make a near infrared beam and an electromagnetic wave transmit and which makes visual light reflect little but transmit enough.

A filter 200 for a plasma display panel is provided with an electromagnetic wave shield layer 100 and a near infrared reflection film. The electromagnetic wave shield layer 100 consists of an electromagnetic wave cutting film constituted by a metal thin film layer 3. The near infrared reflecting film 101 is a film obtained by laminating a cholesteric liq. crystalline polymer solidified layer 61A having a left screw axis and a cholesteric liq. crystalline polymer solidified layer 71A having a right screw axis, and each of the cholesteric liq. crystalline polymer solidified layer 61A and 71A is coated with a transparent coating layer 4.
