Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a thickness of an optical film laminate having an optical compensation function.SOLUTION: An optical film laminate 1 includes layers of a positive C-plate 3 and a positive A-plate 2. In the laminate, a homeotropic alignment layer is formed from a liquid crystalline material (A) having a photosensitive group and is irradiated with light containing a linearly polarized light component to be imparted with liquid crystal alignment capability to form the positive C-plate; and then a polymerizable liquid crystalline material is deposited on the homeotropic alignment layer and is homogeneously aligned to form the positive A-plate comprising the homogeneous alignment layer that is directly adheres to the positive C-plate. After the homogeneous alignment layer is deposited, the layers are irradiated with non-polarized UV rays to fix the alignment in both layers and to enhance adhesiveness on the interface between the layers.
