Abstract:
An optical film 4 production method according to an embodiment of the present invention produces an optical film by implementing N processes (where N is an integer of 1 or higher) on a long film 2. The N processes are performed while the film is conveyed, and the width of the film is continuously measured at a plurality of locations 20 during conveyance. The rate of change of the width of the film is calculated on the basis of the measurement results obtained simultaneously at the upstream location and the downstream location among two locations selected from the plurality of locations.
