PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mixed acid ester of cellulose forming a film excellent in transparency, water resistance and dimensional stability. SOLUTION: This mixed acid ester compound of cellulose is obtained by substituting hydrogen atoms of hydroxy groups of cellulose with substituted or unsubstituted aromatic acyl groups and substituted or unsubstituted acyl groups.
