The optical filter has a filter layer 2 containing a dyestuff having its absorption maximum in the wavelength range of 560-620 nm and a polymer binder on a transparent substrate 1. The filter layer 2 further contains a fading inhibitor selected from the group comprising a phenol compound, a phenol ether compound, an aniline compound, a quinone compound and a piperidine compound. In the layer structure of the antireflection film with the filter layer 2 and an antreflection layer on the opposite sides of the transparent substrate 1, the filter layer 2, the substrate 1 and low refractive index layer 3 and successively laminated (a). The refractive index of the layer 3 is lower than that of the substrate 1.
