Title:
OPTICAL FLOW-DIRECTION SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2003043059
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an optical flow-direction sensor with which the flow direction of running water flowing through a gutter gate, a gutter pipe or the like can be detected in a state that a gate is closed and which uses an optical fiber.

The water pressure of inside water A and the water pressure of outside water B are transmitted to mutually opposed moving elements 11, 12 via pressure mediums 7 inside pressure receiving parts 1, 2 and a pressure guiding pipes 3, 4. When the balance of both water pressures is lost, one from among sensor elements 17, 18 formed at the optical fiber is elongated, and the other is contracted. The elongation strain of the sensor elements 17, 18 is measured, which water pressure (level) out of the inside water A and the outside water B is higher is detected, and a flow direction at a time when the gate G is opened is detected.
