Title:
OPTICAL FREQUENCY MODULATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3412925
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To execute optical frequency modulation without deterioration in the shape and wave front of a laser beam.
CONSTITUTION: An optical system 6 for image transfer is installed between a laser device 1 and an electro-optical crystal. The laser beam 10 emitted from this laser device 1 is made incident on this electro-optical crystal 2 through the optical system 6 for image transfer. High-frequency voltage pulses are impressed through an electrode crystal supporting body 3 on this crystal 2 from a high frequency power source. A modulation effect is applied on the light frequency of the laser beam transmitted through the crystal 2 by these pulses. The laser beam transmitted through the crystal 2 is distributed by a beam split mirror 7 and the split beams are made incident on a laser beam wave front monitor device 5, by which the uniformity of the wave front is decided. The uniform parts of the wave front are segmented by a variable aperture 8 and the size of the beam is enlarged and adjusted by a zoom lens 9.
