PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain optical glass that has high devitrification resistance while having a refractive index (n) and an Abbe number (ν) in desired ranges, at reduced costs.SOLUTION: An optical glass has, in mass%, SiOcomponents of 15.0-50.0%, NbOcomponents of 25.0-50.0%, and BOcomponents of 1.0-20.0%. The optical glass has high transparency with respect to visible light, and prevents opacification, devitrification or fogging from occurring during glass making and processing in a reheat press step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
