Abstract:
PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for many connections for a local coupling type, to reduce the size of a processing system, and to transmit a minus-number signal.
CONSTITUTION: Constituent units of an optical neural network as an optical information processing circuit consisting of LCLVs 21 as spatial optical modulating elements and weighting means 25 which weight information light are coupled. Input information light I0 is inputted from the side W of an LCLV21, which is irradiated with read/write light H1 from the side R to read the information light I0 out as information light I1; and the light is weighted by the weighting mask W1 of a weighting means 25 and the information light I1' weighted by the LCLV 22 is inputted through a lens L1. Similarly, this process is repeated to obtain a finally processed output O1.
