PURPOSE: To reproduce accurately the information with proper beam intensity using a discord recording medium even with a system in which the recording is performed with varying the recording beam intensity in the radial direction by setting the intensity of the light beam before the moving of the beam to a recording position is completed.

CONSTITUTION: When the recording mode is selected by an external system 18, the titled system calculates the radius correspondent to the track selector address, indicates the radius of moving to the position of recording to a head- transferring-motor control circuit, and the moving is started. At the same time, a signal (b) correspondent to the intensity that corresponds to the radius is outputted to a latch circuit 14. While the time when the head moves and a current source 11 begins to give the prescribed constant current value, the recording information is inputted from the external system to the buffer in the controller. When the light beam which is already of the reproduction output level reaches the position of the address to be recorded, the recording information is outputted from the buffer, as well as the light beam of recording level outputted, and the information is recorded on the medium.
