Abstract:

To provide an optical insulator soilure-amount detector for finding a salinity adhesion amount with high accuracy by removing an influence by approaching light from the outside such as sunlight or the like as a cause generating a measurement error.

In the optical insulator soilure-amount detector, light for salinity adhesion amount detection emitted from a light source part 1 is made incident from one end 7a of an optical waveguide 2 on the surface of an insulator, transmitted light emitted from the other end 7b is received by a light receiving part 4, and the salinity adhesion amount on the surface of the insulator is derived on the basis of a loss amount of the transmitted light. An optical filter 3 used to attenuate light at a wavelength other than a wavelength of the light for salinity adhesion amount detection is mounted at the front of the part 4, the light for salinity adhesion amount detection is modulated so as to give a regularity to its light intensity, the transmitted light of the light for salinity adhesion amount detection passed through the optical filter 3 is demodulated in the part 4, and the light intensity of the light for salinity adhesion amount detection emitted from the part 1 is controlled in such a way that the light intensity of the transmitted light received by the part 4 becomes definite.
