To provide a method for manufacturing an optical lens the shape accuracy of which is high, and the optical lens.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for manufacturing an optical lens 10 which has a first optical plane 11a and a second optical plane 12a. The manufacturing method for the optical lens 10 comprises: a step for preparing a lens material 1 that has a first principal plane 11 and a second principal plane 12; a step for cutting or grinding the first principal plane 11 to form the first optical plane 11a; a step for forming a groove part 14 at a peripheral edge 13 of the first optical plane 11a; a step for applying a coating of an adhesive 2 to the groove part 14 and fixing the first principal plane 11 and a jig 3 together via the adhesive 2; and a step for cutting or grinding the second principal plane 12 to form a second optical plane 12a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
