Abstract:

To provide an optical member having an excellent antireflective performance in a broad range including a visible range for a base material with a low refractive index, and to provide a method for manufacturing the optical member.

An optical member includes a base material 1 and an antireflective layer 4 on the base material 1. The antireflective layer 4 includes a plurality of fine protrusions 5 on a surface thereof and a support layer 6 for supporting the protrusions, and the support layer 6 contains boron in an amount of 7×10¹⁹ atom/cm³ or more and 2.5×10²⁰ atom/cm³ or less.
