Title:
OPTICAL PACKET BUFFER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3558575
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an optical packet buffer which is easily miniaturized and integrated, free from instability owing to oscillation, and adaptive to a non- isometric packet without restriction of the packet size.
SOLUTION: A variable wavelength conversion circuit converts the wavelength of an optical signal inputted from an optical waveguide for input into a prescribed wavelength, and inputs it in a delay loop optical waveguide through an optical coupler. While going around, the optical signal inputted into the delay loop optical waveguide is shifted by a fixed wavelength for every circumference by a wavelength shifter. A specific wavelength extracting circuit passes (makes go around) the optical signal of an unspecific wavelength among optical signals going around whose wavelengths are shifted sequentially by the wavelength shifter, separates the optical signal of a specific wavelength, and outputs it to an optical waveguide for output.
