Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide optical parts each using a highly oriented thin diamond film having a flat surface and very high light transmissivity, almost free from defects because polishing is not required and hardly absorbing light.

CONSTITUTION: The light transmitting part of each of the objective optical parts is made of a highly oriented thin diamond film formed by vapor phase synthesis. In this film, (100) or (111) crystal faces of diamond account for ≥50% of the surface area and the difference {Δα, Δβ, Δγ} between Eulerian angles (α, β, γ} showing the orientations of the adjacent (100) or (111) crystal faces simultaneously satisfies Δα≤10°, Δβ≤10° and Δγ≤10°.
