Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a device thin and to improve productivity by forming a skew adjusting mechanism for adjusting the optical axis of an objective lens separately from an optical pickup and moving the same away from the optical pickup after the skew adjustment.
SOLUTION: This device comprises an objective lens 4, an objective lens holding cylinder 1 and an actuator having a focus coil 5 for driving the objective lens holding cylinder 1 in two directions and a tracking coil 6. A skew adjusting mechanism for adjusting the optical axis of the objective lens 4 to an optical recording medium is formed separately from an optical pickup, fixed and supported on the optical pickup and moved away from the same after performing skew adjustment. Thus, optical pickup productivity is improved, the number of part items is reduced and accordingly costs are reduced and the device is made thin, reduced in weight and miniaturized.
