This optical pickup device has a suspension holder 1 attached to a carriage, a lens holder 2 which is connected to the suspension holder 1 via a connection member and holds an object lens 9, a magnetic member 3 consisting of yokes 6 and magnets 7 arranged inside the carriage, and focusing coils 5 mounted on a lens holder 2 and located in the magnetic members 3. In the device, the lens holder 2 is held in cantilever by being attached to the suspension holder 1 and also attaching the other end of the connection member to the end face 13 of the lens holder 2 at the outer circumferential side of an optical disk.
