By diffracting the center of the laser beam B1 emitted from the light source 11 with a grid 13, the center of the main beam B21a and the sub-beams B21b, B21c produced by the diffraction in the grid 14 can be made empty. Consequently, it is possible to prevent the return light B31a, B31b, B31c of the main beam B21a and the sub-beams B21b, B21c reflected on the recording layer L1 from overlapping the crosstalk light of these beams reflected on the recording layer L2. Thus, the interlayer crosstalk can be suppressed.
