To provide an optical position detection device and an apparatus having a position detection function equipped with the optical position detection device capable of coping with a change in the number of light source parts according to a size of a detection target space by a control IC of the same specification.
In an optical position detection device 10, there is used a light source module 11 including a plurality of light source parts 12 for irradiating detection light and a control IC 70 for controlling the plurality of light source parts 12. Therefore, when the number of light source parts 12 is increased, the number of light source modules 11 is increased without changing a specification of the control IC 70. In addition, a control IC 70 provided for a first light source module 11A behaves as an upper control IC with respect to other control ICs 70 provided for a second light source module 11B, a third light source module 11C and a fourth light source module 11D and controls these control ICs 70.
