PURPOSE: To achieve an accurate recognition of an irradiation range of light to be emitted by providing a guide chip at an outgoing end of an optical probe.
CONSTITUTION: Far infrared fiber 1 admits and leads a laser light at one incoming end and emits it at the other outgoing end. A cylindrical outgoing chip 2 surrounds the outgoing end of the far infrared fiber 1. An interval is so arranged between the outgoing end chip 2 and the outgoing end that an assist gas 3 can flow out to prevent the adhering of impurities flying during the cooling and working of the outgoing end of the far infrared fiber 1 and during a treatment. A luminous flux 8 of the laser light to be emitted from the far infrared fiber 1 passes inside the end 7 the closest to an object to be irradiated of a polytetrafluoroethylene cylindrical guide chip 5 mounted at the tip of the outgoing end chip 2. After the guide chip 5 is brought into contact with the objective 6 to be irradiated such as organism, the laser light is emitted thereby judging an irradiation range clearly.
