To discriminate coincidence/dissidence between a particular pulse train with a optical label pulse train of a high-speed optical packet signal temporally irregularly arrived from a transmission line by comparing them.
The optical pulse train coincidence discrimination device is provided with an optical timing pulse generating means that receives one optical packet signal of two signals distributed by an optical distribution circuit and extracts a top optical pulse of the continuous optical pulse train to output the extracted pulse as an optical timing pulse, an optical pulse train generating means that generates a particular optical pulse train on the basis of the optical timing pulse, and an optical pulse train comparison means that is connected to the optical distribution circuit and the optical pulse train generating means via an optical delay line so as to receive an optical label pulse train of the other optical packet signal and the particular optical pulse train at the same time, provides no output when the optical label pulse train and the particular optical pulse train are completely coincident with each other in all bits, and outputs an optical pulse when they are dissident even in one bit so as to notify the discrimination result of whether or not the optical label pulse train and the particular optical pulse train are coincident with each other by means of the absence/presence of the output optical pulse.
