To provide an optical receiver in which reception sensitivity is optimized with ease.
The optical receiver 10 is provided with an optical detector 24, a pre-amplifier 26, a filter 14 and a post-amplifier 16. The optical detector 24 converts optical signals into electrical signals which are amplified by the pre-amplifier 26. The filter filters and outputs the electrical signals amplified by the pre-amplifier in a variable passband. The post-amplifier amplifies the filtered electrical signals. The filter includes an inductor 53, a variable-capacitance diode 62, and a voltage control circuit 64. Both ends of the inductor 53a and 53b are connected to an input terminal 33 and an output terminal 35 of the filter, respectively. One end of the variable-capacitance diode 62 is connected between one end of the inductor and the output terminal of the filter. The voltage control circuit applies a variable reverse bias voltage to the variable-capacitance diode.
