Abstract:

To provide a recording layer which enables successful recording/regenerating of data and is suited for ultra-high density recording with the help of a laser light with 300 to 900 nm wavelength, especially a blue-purplish laser light selected from the range of 400 to 410 nm wavelengths, and a new 3,4-dihydroquinazoline derivative.

This optical recording medium comprises a recording layer which contains the 3,4-dihydroquinazoline derivative represented by formula (1).
