Title:
OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM FORMED BY USING METAL CHELATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3666166
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a metal chelate azo compd. which is formed of a specific azo compd. and metallic salt, is nontoxic to the human body, has improved preservation stability and weatherability of a coating liquid and is suitable for spin coating by incorporating the compd. described above into a light absorption layer.
SOLUTION: The metal chelate azo compd. formed of the metal salt of the azo compd. expressed by formula I or formula II (R1 is an alkyl group or perfluoroalkyl group, R2, R3 are alkyl groups, where the total carbon atoms of (R1+R2+R3) are 6 to 12, n is 0 or 1, a ring A may have a substituent which does not contain carbon) and metals is used. The metals are metals having an ability to form a complex with the azo compd. and are preferably transition metal elements, such as Ni, Co, Fe, Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir and Pt, and more particularly preferably Ni or Co. The recording layer contg. this chelate compd. has preferably 100&angst to 5μm film thicknesses.
