Title:
OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3685368
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide superior light fastness, storage stability applicable to a DVD-R using the semiconductor laser having the oscillation wavelength in short wavelength by containing at least one kind of a specified azo compound and an azo metal chelate compound composed of a metal or its salt in a recording medium.
SOLUTION: In an optical recording medium, a coloring matter having a specified structure represented by the formula is effective for the recording layer format. [In the formula, R1-R3 represent respectively and individually hydrogen, halogen, nitro or the like; R4-R5 each represent hydrogen, substituted or non-substituted alkyl, or substituted or non-substituted allyl; X1 represents R6 (R6 represents hydrogen, halogen, nitro or the like, and X2 represents R8 (R8 represents hydrogen, halogen or nitro.); and Z represents a group having useful hydrogen.] The azo metal chelate compound generates the large optical change by the laser beam of 600-700 nm wavelength and is used as an ideal material thereof.
