Title:
OPTICAL RESIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0411613
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an optical resin excellent in optical and mechanical properties by polymerizing a starting monomer containing a specified organosulfur compound. CONSTITUTION:A resin obtained by polymerizing a starting monomer containing an organosulfur compound of formula I [wherein R1 is H or methyl; X is a group of formula II, III, IV or the like (wherein R2 is H or methyl; Z is halogen; n1+m1 is 2-10; and q1 and q2 are each 0, 1 or 2); and Y is a group of formula V, VI or the like (wherein p is 0-4)]. The organosulfur compound can easily be obtained, by the addition reaction of 2mol of 1,2-bis(acryloyl) glycol with 1mol of 1,2-dimercaptoethane. The proportion of the organosulfur compound in the starting monomer is particularly desirably in the range of 50-100wt.% based on the starting monomer. When the organosulfur compound is used in an amount of 1-30wt.%, the obtained resin can be used as a high-performance crosslinking agent having a high refractive index.
