Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for profitably optically resolving 1-(3- methoxyphenyl)ethylamine.
SOLUTION: This method for optically resolving 1-(3-methoxyphenyl) ethylamine comprises reacting 1-(3-methoxyphenyl)ethylamine with optically active mandelic acid in the presence of water in methyl t-butyl ether solvent and crystallizing the formed diastereomer salt of the optically active mandelic acid with one of the optically active 1-(3-methoxyphenyl)ethylamine.
