Abstract:

PURPOSE: To detect an absolute rotation position at high resolving capacity, by mounting a circular disk on a rotating shaft with eccentricity and installing 3 pairs of light-emitting and receiving systems fixed on a concentric circle with the rotating shaft with an angular distance of 120° and supplying a sinsoidal wave current with a 120° phase difference.

CONSTITUTION: A metallic circular disk 2 made of for instance, a metallic material is mounted eccentrically relative to the center O of a rotating shaft 1. 3 light-emitting apparatuses 3aW3c and light-receiving apparatuses 4aW4b are mounted on a concentric circle with the center O with an angular distance of 120°. Sinsoidal wave currents iaWic are supplied from the reference signal emitter 5 to the light-emitting apparatuses 3aW3c with the phase difference of 120°C each. When outputs of the light-receiving apparatuses 4aW4c are added a sinsoidal wave voltage e is obtained corresponding to the rotated position of the circular disk 1. By detecting a phase difference of the voltage e and the reference current ia using zero cross comparators 9, 11 and phase comparator 12, an absolute rotation position of the circular disk 1 can be detected.
